The Education Task Force of Sonoma County, California Commission initiated the celebration of Women’s History Week in 1978. They realized there was not a lot of women’s history being taught in the schools and they wanted that to change.  Through their efforts, they were able to get President Carter to proclaim it National Women’s History Week in 1980.  Six years later, it was declared National Women's History Month.WomensHistory Schools can take this month to create lapel pins and to incorporate important historical events as they are being taught in the classroom.  Custom lapel pins make great visual aids.  In fact, they’re the type of item that everyone enjoys looking at and wearing.  Your students can relate to the lesson better when they have a fond reminder of it pinned to their shirt or jacket each day. We offer a number of different lapel pin styles to choose from.  For example, they can be soft enamel, cloisonne, offset printed or die struck depending on your needs and preferences.  Pins can be small or large, traditionally shaped or cut-to-shape.  Pins can even have a photograph of a historic woman on them if you want them to look like the picture. Celebrate historic women every day.  Create custom lapel pins to use in your school, library or rec center.  Focus on women and their role in making the world the innovative and exciting place that it is today.  Contact Signature Pins with your request for a no obligation, free price quote and digital file containing the custom artwork that we created in house for you.
