Lapel Pin Attachment Options

Our clutch attachments come in several styles. The main differences between each one are the appearance, material, how they work, and the size of the post. The post is the small metal peg that sticks out from the back of the pin and pierces the garment, while the clutch is the closure that grips the post and holds the pin in place.

The butterfly clutch is included free with every order and works well for most pins. Rubber clutches grip tightly and won't slip, deluxe and jewelry clutches add a more finished, upscale feel, and key ring and cufflink attachments turn your design into something you can carry or wear differently.

Thicker fabrics make it difficult for a traditional post and clutch to stay in place. For dense articles of clothing and heavier material, we suggest the safety pin attachment. The added length combined with the locking mechanism makes it ideal for heavy sweaters, sport jackets, and outerwear.

If you want to display a lapel pin proudly without damaging your clothing, a two-piece clothing magnet is the best option. A strong magnet holds the pin in place without piercing the garment, so there are no holes left behind. It's also a great choice for affixing pins to model planes or other metal-based objects.
