How Fast Is a Rush Pin?

Two things make the speed possible. There is no steel die to cut, because the design is printed onto a finished blank rather than struck into metal, and the pins are produced at our own facility in Winter Park, Florida rather than shipped in from overseas — so there is no ocean freight and no customs step to lose a week to.

A digital proof comes back within 24 to 48 hours of your quote request. Production takes 3–5 days after you approve it, depending on quantity and what is already in the queue. Shipping is free on every order; with shipping, that’s typically about a week delivered. If you have a hard deadline, tell your salesperson the date you need pins in hand rather than the date you want them shipped, and we will build the schedule backwards from it.

Sizes, Shapes, and Attachments

Rush pins come in the same sizes as the rest of our lapel pins — 0.75", 1", 1.25", 1.5", 1.75" and 2" — and 1" is the size most logos land on, large enough to hold a wordmark and small enough to wear on a lapel every day. Round is the most common outline, with square and rectangle close behind, and a custom outline cut to your logo shape is available as well.

Every pin ships with an 8 mm post and your choice of butterfly or rubber clutch at no charge. Magnetic backs, jewelry clutches, deluxe clutches and safety-pin backs are available for a small upcharge, which is worth asking about for uniforms that should not be pierced.

Rush Pins vs Soft Enamel and Die Struck Pins

A rush pin is a printed pin, so full-color artwork, gradients, photographs and fine type all reproduce without being simplified into enamel-sized color areas. What it does not have is the physical relief of a molded pin: there are no raised metal lines to feel, the way there are on soft enamel pins, and no bare sculpted metal like a die struck pin.

That trade is the whole point. When the design is a detailed logo and the deadline is close, printing it domestically gets a good-looking pin on a lapel in days instead of weeks. When there is time and the design wants depth or a metal finish, a molded pin is the better piece — and our team will say so if that is the case for your artwork.
